FACEBOOK deletes pet profiles… Gus has been ERASED

July 27th, 2008

Well my stay on Facebook was short and sweet. In short i have been erased. It appears that the billion dollar social networking giant doesn’t have much of a sense of humour nor a sense of silly fun for that matter.

Yesterday i had 533 friends from all over the planet. Today “Gus Boxer” no longer exists on Facebook.

The reason…. no alias’ or impersonators are allowed. OK so maybe i had  some help putting my page up ( thanks boss ) but i wasn’t impersonating Justin Timberlake or creating neo-nazi  slurs. It was just a bit of a laugh.

Surely F-book HQ is being a bit heavy handed. Yeah i could use dog book but it’s a pretty lame app and no fun at all. You can’t even tell people “what Gus is doing now”.

Anyway some of my friends have put a petition together on f-book click here to re-instate our profile pages ( all the time i spent putting my holiday snaps from Tassie into a photo album, surely the hours weren’t wasted….say it isn’t so facebook ! )

Pet owners of the world unite today.

I”m big in Bristol, bigger in Norway

July 16th, 2008

I don’t want to pump up my own tyres but i’m known in Ontario, have friends in Topeka, am getting fan mail from my brothers in Leeds ( they are a bit scary looking ), so popular in Manchester they want me to move there and make babies with their bitches. I’ve got agents in New York penning notes to be wanting to be my friend and i’ve even picked up a girlfriend in Columbia. I am HUGE in Boston.

But i’m still keepin it real as my man in Vegas keeps tells me i should.

What am i banging on about you say ? ….well facebook of course.

Haven’t forgot my roots, i know where i’m from.

I am still most popular in Australia.

Gus  ( or as my facebook friends call me Gus Boxer )

…. approaching our 10th birthday

May 18th, 2008

The end of May marks ten years since haul - then called Urban Boomerang began selling recycled number plate travel journals from a card table @ Salamanca Market in Hobart. Made by hand ( fairly roughly I might add) in a garage in suburban Moonah Tasmania. The haul range expanded from number plate accessories to recycled truck inner tube messenger bags and now includes, satchels, MacBook sleeves, bean bags, dog collars and and and …. made from recycled advertising billboards. haul still proudly manufactures in Australia and is venturing into making eco-friendly promotional products for companies from their own billboards. A whole bunch of new ( or renewed as we like to say ) products are on the drawing board including watches, laptop bags and totes are all being refined as i tap.

Haven’t decided what the birthday celebrations will entail. Stay tuned.

Gus @ the RSPCA Million Paws Walk

May 17th, 2008

I’m going to support my fellow woofers in need by appearing in the Melbourne Million Paws Walk to raise money for the RSPCA. This Sunday May 18th @ Albert Park Lake. I did it last year and apart from there being more dog nutters than i’d ever seen in one space before, it was cool & the boss and I had a swell time.

I had hoped to re-launch my “haul by Gus” dog collar range, but a few production problems have delayed it.

Not too much longer though.

See you @ Albert Park….Woof Woof
